Pages of history

are torn with war

but painted with images

of the ones

known as heroes,

the ones that give us

the world.

The ink has never stopped crying

over the lives lost,

the innocence taken,

and the war still rages on.

Their stories are still being written.

With every last breath,

they touch the world,

raising it higher and higher

upon their shoulders.

With every heartbeat,

they keep our dreams alive.

When they fade from life,

they remain engraved in heart,

forever to be remembered,

and forever seen as heroes

painted in stories of war.

Their hands had molded our history,

and their life gave us

the world.

"The ink has never stopped crying." Well done! Your poem is very different from mine (for the same C4C). That always intrigues me to see how writers perceive things so diversely. ;-)
