#1 Miami Dolphins
The Pick
The Dolphins have a lot of holes to fill on offense and defense. The Dolphins have already signed OT Jake Long. With Miami having second year QB John Beck behind center the Dolphins will run the ball 30-45 times a game. This is where Jake Long will pay big dividends.
Most Productive 2007 NFL Draft Pick
Miami was heavily criticized for selecting WR/KR Ted Ginn Jr. Ginn did finish with 34 catches for 420 yards and 2 TD's. The Dolphins will run the ball 35-45 times per game in 2008 to take pressure off QB John Beck. Look for Ginn to be on the other end of a lot of deep play action passes.
#2 ST. Louis Rams
The Pick
The Rams could go offensive line or defensive line. The Rams will select DT Glenn Dorsey from LSU. Dorsey will give the Rams a disruptive force in the middle of the defensive line. The Rams will have the option of keeping Carriker inside or moving Adam to a DE position. Dorsey will be a run stuffer and have the ability to rush the QB.
Most Productive 2007 NFL Draft Pick
Adam Carriker and Brian Leonard. Carriker is a versatile player who can play DT and DE. Adam finished with 30 Tackles and 2 sacks. Carriker should continue to improve in 2008. FB/HB Brian Leonard finished with 30 catches and 303 yards rushing.
#3 Atlanta Falcons
The Pick
The Falcons have a lot of draft picks on the first day of the 2008 NFL Draft. Atlanta has enough second round picks to move back into the bottom of round one and select another QB. It would be best for Atlanta to keep all their second round picks and even trade back with at least one of the 2nd rounders and add additional pick. The Falcons cannot pass on QB Matt Ryan in hopes that their 2nd choice at QB will be available at the end of round one. Atlanta will select QB Matt Ryan and use the rest of their picks to address their defense.
Most Productive 2007 NFL Draft Pick
WR Laurent Robinson finished the 2007 NFL season with 37 catches for 437 yards and 1TD. Look for Robinson to improve on those numbers in 2008.
#4 Oakland Raiders
