Trivia lovers in Washington DC with a bit o' the Irish in them can find a different trivia contest every night of the week from Sunday through Friday at a different Irish pub.

Duffy's Tavern
2106 Vermont Ave NW
Washington, DC 20001
(202) 265-3413

Duffy's is the place to go on Sundays for the trivia lover starting his week. Duffy's publishes its past week trivia questions on its website, giving potential trivia contestants the opportunity to see just what they're in for... the questions are said to be challenging but the prizes- $20-$50 off the bar tab- make the quest worthwhile.

Fadó
808 7th St., NW
Washington, DC
202-789-0066

Fadó, a downtown DC Irish pub, invites know-it alls to come to its trivia contests styled Monday Quiz Nights and prove their competency. Quiz night begins at 8 p.m., the same time Fadó begins its two hour price drop to $3.50 per glass on Harp and Bass. Fadó's trivia night is often said to be the best in DC; it is certainly the most publicized.

Fadó's trivia night includes 7 rounds, each with 10 questions. Trivia is played in teams, with answers written on paper and turned into the hostess for evaluation. The trivia rounds include both general knowledge and themed categories.

While Fadó offers prizes and giveaways during Monday Quiz Nights, the focus is on fun.

Nanny O'Brien's
3319 Connecticut Ave., NW
Washington, DC 20008
202-686-9189

Tuesday night is Trivia Night at Nanny O'Brien's, a Cleveland Park institution. What is exciting for those who master the trivia competition at Nanny O'Brien's is the prize- a bar tab.

Ireland's Four Green Fields
3412 Connecticut Ave. NW
Washington, DC 20008

On Wednesday night, trivia lovers move to Ireland's Four Green Fields, another Irish bar in the Cleveland Park neighborhood. Trivia night at Ireland's Four Fields starts at 9 pm, and an intense competition it is, with just short of a hundred written questions to be laboriously pondered and answered. Prizes at this trivia night vary and may include cash, drinks on the house, or movie tickets.

James Hoban's
One Dupont Circle
Washington, DC 20036
