This paper will discuss my personal Ethics Awareness Inventory Profile. The Ethics Awareness Inventory asks a series of questions in which I had to express the answers that I was most in agreement with and least in agreement with for a variety of categories. These categories were relevant to character, ethical standards, personal morals, society. From this assessment, I learned my ethical perspective is based on obligation. I will describe all ethical perspectives a) Character/ Virtue, b) Obligation/ Deontology, c) Results/Utilitarianism, and d) Equity/Relativism. Lastly I will discuss dilemmas that I face on a daily basis at in my work environment based on my results.

Character/Virtue

The ethical perspective of character is focused on having good moral principles. People who fit this criterion have a strong overall belief in integrity and behavior is reflective of the actions of each person. People who base their ethical perspective on charter "look for evidence of virtue in people, including such traits as honor, justice, and benevolence, believing that a virtue is not just an abstract principle."(The Williams Institute for Ethics and Management, 2003). Exemplifying an excellent character will enable each person to make ethical decision even under the most difficult circumstances. People who demonstrate they possess honesty, wisdom, and integrity are considered to have a strong character. According to The Williams Institute for Ethics and Management (2003) an individuals who does not have a strong character will not be able to make ethical decisions. Many people lack the qualities individuals from this ethical perspective value due to problems faced in society such as social inequality. Many people fitting this description express they value integrity within organizational settings, but the term is over-used by people whom are not sincere. People fitting in this ethical perspective truly believe that ethics depends upon the ability of each individual to make decisions that are moral ."(The Williams Institute for Ethics and Management, 2003).
