How to Become a Successful Squidoo Lensmaster (Part 2)

How to Use the Squidoo Community to Bring Traffic to Your Squidoo Lens

Whether you want to earn money online, bring traffic to a website or even earn money for charity, Squidoo can help you. There are several ways you can make money with Squidoo but if you want it to be really profitable you will need to learn a few simple tricks; once you have covered
the SEO aspects of building your Squidoo lens, you can start participating in Squidoo's community. To become a successful Squidoo lensmaster you must participate in the community and be popular. Here are a few tips that will show you how to get more traffic to your lens using this community.

A good way of making yourself known to other lensmasters is to join SquidU, Squidoo's own forum, where you can give and get help from other lensmasters. The important thing to remember here is not to spam the forum. Put your Squidoo lens' URL in your forum signature and join in the conversations. Be friendly and helpful and don't be afraid to ask for advice; the forum members love giving advice to new and old members, you may even gain some Squidoo knowledge!

Comment on other lenses from your category. Most Squidoo lenses have a guestbook and leaving valuable comments (as long as these are not spam) encourages the lensmaster and the lens' visitors to check out your own lens.

Rate other users' lenses. There is a rating system on Squidoo where you can give a lens anything between 1 and 5 stars. Don't fool yourself into thinking that you can give all other lenses 1 star in order to try and bring their lensrank down; Squidoo will be aware of this and could close your account. Be careful also of not over-using the 5 star rating; Squidoo tries to keep their site genuine and may think you are participating in a 5 star rating exchange to artificially boost lensrank for some Squidoo lenses. If you really love a lens and give it a 5 star rating, mentioning this in the guestbook can't hurt and the lensmaster may even return the favour.

Thanks. I'm new to Squidoo and have been doing most what you suggest. It's nice to know I'm on the right track. I had no idea you could get in trouble for too many 5 ratings. I tend to be enthusiastic about the good lenses that I find and give out a lot of 5's. If I don't love a lense I don't usually rate it. Now I will be a little wiser in my ratings.
