'Hannah Montana Bill' Gains Support

The Hannah Montana bill has finally passed both houses in the Minnesota legislature, making it illegal to use "bot" software to buy up large blocks of tickets. This bill was proposed after many parents became outraged due to the lack of tickets to several of the Disney star's shows. The Hannah Montana bill was designed to help the general public be able to purchase event tickets without having to worry as much about them selling out quick or costing a fortune, as reported by Ticket News.

When the Disney concert for Hannah Montana came to Oklahoma City, many parents were trying to get their hands on these tickets. The day that they tickets went on sale, they became very hard to find. The only places that still had tickets for sale were the ticket brokers but they wanted a pretty penny for them.

My cousin had bought tickets for his niece's birthday and ended up paying over $500 for these. This was a ridiculous price to have to pay for something like this and many parents had even gotten into fights over the tickets.

With this new bill passing, hopefully it will give more leverage to people who want to purchase tickets. There is a huge fear of what tickets will cost once they hit ticket brokers or become sold out.

I believe that it was only right that they passed this law. We shouldn't have to pay a fortune for children to enjoy entertainment like this and it should be made affordable for the general public.

Ticket brokers have been known to use any type of illegal means to get their hands on tickets like these. When the ticket brokers know that something as popular as Disney's Hannah Montana will sell out quickly, they want to get their hands on it before the public does. Once the tickets sell out, the ticket brokers can raise the prices on them because they know that many people will be looking to purchase these tickets.

It's not right to create a type of scam like this even if a lot of parents are willing to pay top dollar for the tickets. Just because they are willing to pay good money for the tickets, doesn't mean that they should have too.
