Scrabble is the popular crossword game that has been played for decades and still provides a ton of entertainment for families. Whether you play the traditional board game, Scrabble Jr., or a digital version of the game, it all remains much the same and is equally challenging. With some strategy and a little work, you could become a great scrabble player and maybe even join tournaments.Play the Game: The key to becoming great at Scrabble is actually playing the game. Practice as much as you can and really study the board. Add up points in your head (using a calculator if necessary), and figure out which moves will work out the best for you.
Much like chess, Scrabble requires you to look ahead at moves as well. If you need to take low points to set something up for even larger point then do it, but be aware that your opponent is also looking ahead and may steal your move.
Keep track of the letter. Vowels may be hard to keep track of, but you can follow letters like X, J, and K easily because there are so few of all them. Use those letters to your advantage because they are worth the most points.
Purchase a Scrabble dictionary to help you get the advantage. There are several different versions of the Scrabble dictionary, but most of them are the same and will give you the advantage when you are playing. If you have free time, flip through the dictionary when you are not playing so that you can learn moves in your head to make quicker moves and be able to recall things easier.
If you have nobody to play with at the moment then hop onto to the internet because there are many different versions that you can try out online. Play against the computer or other opponents and play on the toughest level so you can see what the smartest players and computers do during a game. You may lose every time, but you will gain a lot of experience that you can use in future games.
Do other word games like jumbles and crosswords. Jumbles will help you sort out and find words when you have the tiles mixed up during a game. Crosswords will just help you strengthen your word and English language knowledge.
