Bangs are an easy way to change your look without doing anything too drastic. Whether you get tired of them, or just weren't happy with how they looked on you, growing out your bangs can be a hassle. I know many women who have become frustrated and just kept their bangs rather than dealing with them once they reach an awkward length.

Knowing how to deal with awkward bangs makes growing them out a much less painful process. The first thing you need to do to manage your growing bangs is to make them all the same length. You might not be able to do this right away if the shortest pieces are too short. Slowly, week by week trim the longer pieces until everything is relatively even. This will make them much easier to deal with.

Hair accessories will soon become a daily necessity when you are growing out your bangs. You can get clips, headbands, bobby pins or whatever else you find that will keep your bangs out of the way and off your face for a few weeks.

You want to try and make your bangs incorporated into your hairstyle, and not obviously stuck to the side. Twist longer hair from the side in with your bangs and pin it all to the side or top of your head. Also, pinning just your bangs into a small poof on the top of your head is a popular look right now, even with women who aren't trying to grow out their bangs.

You can also keep your bangs back and out of the way with a headband, but first you should use a little pomade or gel to smooth them back. You want them tot naturally blend in with your hair and not stick up behind the headband.

Another alternative is to use bobby pins to pin your bangs back and then place the headband covering the bobby pins so they are out of sight. Tying a scarf of ribbon around your head also works as a fashionable headband.

If you don't really like hair accessories, another way to hide your growing out bangs is to change the way you part your hair. Parting your hair on the side is the easiest way to conceal bangs. Apply a little gel or pomade to them when still wet and they style them to the side when you blow-dry your hair. If you let your hair air dry you might have to pin them to the side to get them to stay put until they completely dry.
