5 Worst Reality TV Show Cliches
Out of the Mouths of Babes
These are the five worst reality show cliches uttered by reality TV show contestants. The worst thing about t these cliches is that they simply untrue and only serve as a form of self-placation. These reality TV show cliches have#1 Worst Reality TV Show Cliche: "Everything Happens for a Reason"
The concept that "everything happens for a reason" is the biggest cliche and biggest lie that reality TV show contestants tell themselves. They go around telling other reality TV show contestants and the interview crew, "everything happens for a reason."
The reality TV show contestants utter this verbal placebo to placate themselves. It is an utter crock.
Sometimes things just happen without rhyme or reason. Just accept them.
Kudos to the Season One chef contestants of Top Chef, who uttered "It is what it is" instead.
#2 Worst Reality TV Show Cliche: "We'll be Lifelong Friends"
The fellow reality TV show contestant who becomes your best friend in a week to three months may not be even an acquaintance after the cameras stop and you both go your separate ways.
There are exceptions of course, including Dr. Will and Boogie from Big Brother.
#3 Worst Reality TV Show Cliche: "You Can Trust Me"
After a decade of reality TV shows anyone can tell you not to trust the other reality TV show contestants. Stop looking for people you can trust, or for people who aren't lying to you in the game.
Look for the fellow reality TV show contestant who you believe will deceive you the least.
There are exceptions to this cliche. On Season 5 of Big Brother, Drew played one of the cleanest and lie-free games ever in the history of Big Brother. It did pay off because he won.
#4: Worst Reality TV Show Cliche: "I'm Not Here for the Money"
Sure you're not. Who is going to believe that anyone would put themselves in a fishbowl with a bunch of sharks purposefully? Oh, and to have all of your reactions and actions filmed on TV.
Of course you're there for the money, or the exposure.
