When a celebrity looks bad - hair a mess, stomach pouching out (that's rare), and no make-up, the media jumps on the opportunity to catch that moment. You love staring at those photos.

Why do you love it when they look bad?

When someone that you and the media views as glamorous gets caught looking bad, it makes you feel like they're just like "us"(normal so to speak) and let's face it…you strive to look as good as a them. So, you love it when celebrities don't look their usual perfect selves.

Not only do you and the media constantly critique the way celebrities look, but you also critique the way you look.

When you look in the mirror, you see your flaws. You focus on what's wrong with the way you look. You start fixing, playing with your hair, making sure every piece is in the right place and futzing with your cute summer tank.

The next time you look at yourself in the mirror, instead of focusing on what you don't like about your looks, recognize something you like about the way you look.

Take more moments to feel confident about your unique look. Say to yourself: "My hair looks good!" "I like this shirt on me!"

Compliment yourself.

Be well.

Back when I was in my teenage years, mainly 15 - 17, I found myself very ugly. I didn't want to get out and show my face to the world. I was afraid of what people would say about my flaws. Maybe I was too short for some, or maybe I was too tall. My friend finally told me to look into the mirror and search for the real me. Find out what makes me...me. She pointed out that I have blonde hair and blue eyes, and that she would do anything to be naturally blonde and blue. People, look for the real you. Everyone has something about themselves that they don't like, but those flaws only make you human. Learn to love yourself and others will love you, too.
