Las Vegas, Nevada has a large seniors community. Many retirees decide to come here for the weather and to enjoy the laid-back lifestyle this area offers.

Some seniors, however, find themselves in a financial bind, due to a fixed income, having to pay for healthcare out-of-pocket, illness and other difficulties that come along.

If you are a senior residing in Las Vegas or you have a family member living here, there are a number of services that are available to assist our older citizens with health concerns, counseling, adult daycare needs, transportation, employment, food, companionship, legal matters and more.

The Alzheimer's Association has services for individuals suffering from Alzheimer's disease .
There is a $25 fee for basic membership.

If you are a senior, 65-years-old or more, who is financially needy, contact the local AARP to find out about their Senior Employment Program, where they offer assistance for job training and finding suitable employment.

The Arthritis Foundation has services and support for those who suffer from arthritis, no matter what age they are. To participate in their aquatics class, you must bring your own swimming suit and provide a permission form from your doctor. There is a yearly $52.00  fee, if you want to take the aquatic class They also offer skills training and helpful literature related to arthritis.

I am hoping to find help for a friend, he is 76 and does not have enough money to pay his rent and utilities and to eat. Is there anywhere I can find help for him. He use to get money from va to help but now there are not going to give him that any longer, he has no family .Help me help him.
