Over the past year, a lot of new candy flavors have flooded the market. It seems like all of America's candy staples (Reese's, M&M, Skittles, Musketeers and Snickers) are popping up in new shapes, sizes, textures and flavors. Are they any good? A few are great, but some are not. Here are five new flavors and forms of our favorite candies that you'll want to avoid:

"DARK CHOCOLATE" M&M'S
M&M's have been morphing into a variety of flavors for the past few years. It started with peanut butter and went on to almonds. (Both tasty.) And now, they've added on dark chocolate. How is it? Just okay.

The new dark chocolate M&M doesn't taste bad. It just tastes so much like the regular M&M milk chocolate that you wonder why the producers of this candy even made a new flavor. And truthfully, there is not enough dark chocolate in this new M&M to help anyone's health. So what was the point? It's a marketing scheme gone wrong. Avoid eating this new M&M. Go with the original flavor. It's the best tasting flavor any way.

"CHOCOLATE MIX" SKITTLES
Skittles decided to go against the norm and mix a bag of chocolates. The flavors range from S'mores to chocolate pudding. And guess what? It's awful.

Yes. I said what all lovers of Skittles are thinking, but don't want to say. The creators of Skittles finally found a way to make chocolate taste bad. Hopefully, they'll figure it out soon and take this new mix off the market. It's obvious that only fruity flavors taste good in the form of a chewy table.

REESE'S WHOPPERS
The mixture of chocolate and peanut butter has been the right combination for years in candy. It's what makes Reese's Peanut Butter Cups so popular and one of America's favorite candies. With that thought in mind, I was excited to see a Reese's Whopper. It sounded pretty tasty - that is - until I tasted it.

Yuck. Yuck. Double yuck. This candy tastes like medicine. It is waxy in texture and weird in flavor. The only thing good about this candy is that it is cheap. Take my advice and stray away from this new form of Whoppers. Eat the old chocolate flavor. It's the only one that tastes good.

Another successful Snickers' Flavor, Snickers Cruncher.

Wonderful article! I completely agree about the Chocolate Skittles and Mint Musketeers Bar. I haven't tried the others, but now I know to stay away :)

I haven't seen the new Skittle yet and don't think I would like it anyway. I don't know why they have to mess with good things anyway, they only make them worse. Like Pizza for example, I was watching WolfGang Puck on Food Network a couple of years ago and he was making Pizza with scrambled eggs on it, YUCK!! I think he also made one with Pate ro something gross like that. I wish people would leave original food alone! Thanks for the heads up on the new candies. I try to avoid candy as much as I can anyway but sometimes I just have to have it, you know? I will definitely stay away from the new Skittle and the new Whoppers sound gross too. Oh and the mint flavor 3 Musketeers sounds gross too. I don't like chocolate and mint together that much anyway and this definitely sounds disgusting. :)
