I bought a bottle of Clorox Green Works Natural Bathroom Cleaner on a whim at Target for $2.99. The Green Works line has been in development at Clorox for about 5 years so it wasn't just an eco-friendly line that was carelessly thrown together in an effort for Clorox to jump on the eco-friendly trend. I was however extremely skeptical that the Green Works Natural Bathroom Cleaner would work and whether it was really 100% natural.

But I found that the Clorox Green Works Natural Bathroom Cleaner is natural. It contains a coconut based cleaning agent, which is a non-ionic surfactant, glycolic acid, essential lemon oil, and filtered water. It doesn't contain phosphorus or bleach.

When I used the Green Works Natural Bathroom Cleaner to clean the counters and sink in my bathroom it cleaned those surfaces well. Everything looked sparkly and clean and it smelled fresh like I'd just cut up lemons in the bathroom. When I used the Green Works bathroom cleaner on my bathtub though, it was a different story. My tub had soapscum on it so I had to set the nozzle on the bathroom cleaner to foam, because when it was set to spray all of the cleaner just ran down the drain. The foam stuck to the grime in the tub but I had to use a lot of water and elbow grease to really get my tub clean.

I'm used to using Comet's cleanser to scrub soap scum from my bathtub and I think it works really well since it's so abrasive. But it's powdery and I always wind up choking on it as it rises up. I don't think that the Green Works Natural Bathroom Cleaner works as well as Comet's Cleanser because it's a liquid but I do think that it works as well as other traditional liquid cleansers, even the Clorox Disinfecting Bathroom Cleaner, which isn't eco-friendly.
