My first child was born 2 weeks before Mother's Day. I quickly learned it was very important that my wife was able to celebrate Mother's Day, even though the baby would only be 14 days old. That was a bit odd to me, but I did get her a card and a charm bracelet with a K on it for our daughter. She cried and cried and I knew I did well. Fast forward 35 years and 3 other kids (and charm initials) and I have had a lot of experience preparing Mothers Day celebrations. This year all four kids and families will be here so it is going to be a big party and old Grandpa will still be in there helping to put it together . Mostly I run the grill and pour the wine and help make sure my wife is enjoying her day. My two daughters and I put together our favorite Mother's Day decorations under $10 (some free) that aree sure to please any Mom or Grandma.

Mother's Day Decoration under $10 - Potted Plants

A great way to decorate for Mother's Day in a "green" way is use potted plants. You can line them up along your dinner table as well as three or four in other part of the house. My wife loves herbs and any blooming flowers so she is easy but if you are decorating for a Mom loves pansies then use them. Check multiple places for the best prices and if you have guest coming, ask them each to bring a small plant to keep your cost down. Moms love to replant these flowers and/or herbs and remember the day they received them.

Thanks so much for this. We don't have a lot of money but now I can let my 2 small kids give mommy a special day! We will do the top five and the big picture, she will really love those. And my daughter and son will like to make her a special cake - bless you for these!
