eBay is great to get people to see your car. You can easily get over 1000 views for your car in just a few days. People will look at your vehicle from all over the world and see your vehicle that you have for sale. While it is exciting to see how many people are looking at your car unless they bid you aren't really accomplishing anything. Is it better to start out lower and have a reserve or use the asking price of the car as the starting price? Which way you choose will help you sell the car faster and for more money. I have sold several cars there, and this is what I learned about selling a car on eBay.

Starting the car out at a lower price with a reserve generates more traffic to your vehicle. You will get more page hits and more people bidding on the car while it's at the lower price. This way is more expensive to list your vehicle and your fees will be higher if you don't see the car by reaching your reserve. You will also get more emails from people asking what your reserve is. While this way generates more bids, you still may not sell it if they don't meet your reserve price. It does seem to get bidders bidding and usually you can meet the reserve starting out lower. Always set your reserve at a price that you are willing to sell it at. Once it meets the reserve price the vehicle will have to sell.

Starting the auction out at your bottom line price is the other way to sell a car on eBay. Depending on the vehicle you will get allot of people looking at the car, maybe some watchers, but listing it this way you will not get allot of bids till the very last part of the auction. People will wait till the last few hours to bid. The most action that you will get will be within these last few hours. You may get some questions during the auction but you probably won't get the bids. This way is frustrating unless you are patient and can wait for bids at the end. With the higher starting price only people who are interested in the car will bid. You will get less bids but the difference is these bidders are ones that really want to buy your vehicle.
