What If Sex & the City Had Been Filmed in Atlanta?

On May 30^th 2008, millions of women---single and married, of Generation X, Y, and Z---will be lining up to procure a dose of the big screen magic that is Sex and the City. For six seasons, Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte tippy-toed their stilettoed feet into the hearts of many. Despite its syndicated status, this show continues to remain a staple in American pop culture. Everything from the colloquialisms, the food, and especially the fashion, is referenced in today's common-speak. Perhaps the biggest star of the show, however---is the City itself. Yes, that would be The Big Apple, otherwise known as New York City. A great deal of the program's content is centered around New York's enviable blend of multiple cultures. That made the city's landscape as much a character on the show as the ladies themselves. Keeping that in mind, what might have happened if the show were filmed in another city like Atlanta (which some have compared to The Big Apple)?

Had Sex and the City been filmed in Atlanta instead of New York, Samantha would probably have bumped into previous lovers a lot more frequently than she did on the show. Given that her character was prone to haunting locales dripping with well-to-do bachelors, she might have found herself in one of the lounges at the Ritz Carlton or even The Westin. She also might have frequented places like Sambuca's in Buckhead, though her home would be smack dab in the middle of downtown Atlanta's bustling high-rise district. On weekend nights however, you may find her at Twist or Phipp's Tavern, a place where she can be her utmost fabulous self. But given her undeniable sexual prowess, you would also find her patroling the sex shops and adult novelty stores along Cheshire Bridge Road.
