Neil Diamond Songs Suit Jason Castro on American Idol

Tonight the last five performers on American Idol sang Neil Diamond songs. Diamond is a legend with his music. and the movie the Jazz Singer.

Jason Castro picked Forever in Blue Jeans to sing tonight. I think this song suited him perfectly, as he performed it with ease. He captured my attention a few weeks back with his unique choice of a Somewhere Over the Rainbow arrangement.

Tonight he was better than he's been for a couple weeks. I thought last week he might be going home.

The second song Jason sang was September Morn. Diamonds songs fit Jason, even though the judges weren't happy with him. I think he has a different voice and laid back style. I enjoy his easy stage presence very much. When he sings he makes me feel comfortable and relaxed. Of course, the young girls love him!

The competition between David Cook and David Archuleta is fierce. I think these two will make it hard for Jason to win this season. Cook can perform just about anything and Archuleta has a flawless voice.

I really hope Jason can end up in the top three. I look forward to watching him each week on American Idol.
