Top Five Nintendo Wii Virtual Console Games of April
April was another slow month for the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console. Just seven games were released for the whole month. Still, it wasn't all bad as one of the more requested games were released in the
month with River City Ransom. Here are the top five Virtual Console games released in April.
5. Double Dragon
Developer: Technos Japan Corporation, Publisher: Aksys Games, Original System: NES, Original Release Date: 1988, Genre: Action, Fighting, Controller Options: Options: Wii Remote, Classic and Gamecube, Wii Points: 500, ESRB Rating: E 10+
The classic beat-em-up finally debuts on the Virtual Console. Your girlfriend has been kidnapped by a group called the Black Warriors. Your mission is to beat them up as much as possible and rescue her. Unfortunately, the game is missing as essential feature for all games in the genre: cooperative gameplay. The omission leaves Double Dragon something to be desired. There are better beat-em-ups on the Virtual Console to consider before this one.
4. Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom
Developer: Sega, Publisher: Sega, Original System: Sega Genesis, Original Release Date: 1991, Genre: RPG, Controller Options: Options: Wii Remote, Classic and Gamecube, Wii Points: 800, ESRB Rating: E
Despite being only one of the very few Role-Playing games on the Virtual Console, Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom is also among the weakest. It is considered the worst by far in the legendary series. Still, the generation-spreading storyline may keep you interested. Otherwise, if you want your sci-fi fix, get Phantasy Star II instead. Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom is only for the hardcore fans of the series who wants to complete their collection.
