Both Senator Clinton and Senator McCain have pushed for a gas "holiday" of sorts for the coming summer months, which will cut gas prices by almost 18.4 cents a gallon. Gas prices are expected to reach four dollars before this summer. While this plan will lesson the burden placed on those low income families that vote for the Democratic ticket this November this plan will do little to ease the burden for the long haul. It's a commonly known fact that people drive more in the summer than any time during the entire year and but this "holiday" will only end up saving families a reported half a tank of gas over the three month period, a projected twenty-eight dollars total. And while any kind of relief is greatly appreciated by the American public, we as a country have to think about the long term. Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at the Oil Price Information Service, predicted that Clinton's "holiday" will only end up harming the American public more than it helps in the long run as seen through the law of supply and demand. The gas prices temporarily go down, people use their cars more ,taking advantage of the tax break, and the price of gas continues to go up in response. Senator Clinton said that the funds to ease the tax on gas would come from a tax imposed on the profits made by the oil companies, two of which BP and Royal Dutch Shell reported a 17 billion dollar profit due to record high gas prices.

DEBATE! DEBATE!! DEBATE!!! It's time for everyone to face the truth. Barack Obama has no real chance of winning the national election in November at this time. His crushing defeat in Pennsylvania makes that fact crystal clear. His best, and only real chance of winning in November is on a ticket with Hillary Clinton as her VP. Hillary Clinton seemed almost somber at her Pennsylvania victory speech. As if part of her was hoping Obama could have proved he had some chance of winning against the republican attack machine, and their unlimited money, and resources. But it is absolutely essential that the democrats take back the Whitehouse in November. America, and the American people are in a very desperate condition now. And the whole World has been doing all that they can to help keep us propped up. Hillary Clinton say's that the heat, and decisions in the Whitehouse are much tougher than the ones on the campaign trail. But I think Mr. Obama faces a test of whether he has what i

MY FELLOW "BITTER", STUPID, WORKING CLASS PEOPLE :-) If you think like Barack Obama, that WORKING CLASS PEOPLE are just a bunch of "BITTER"!, STUPID, PEASANTS, Cash COWS!, and CANNON FODDER. :-( You Might Be An Idiot! :-) If you think Barack Obama with little or no experience would be better than Hillary Clinton with 35 years experience. You Might Be An Idiot! :-) If you think that Obama with no experience can fix an economy on the verge of collapse better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) led the greatest economic expansion, and prosperity in American history. You Might Be An Idiot! :-) If you think that Obama with no experience fighting for universal health care can get it for you better than Hillary Clinton. Who anticipated this current health care crisis back in 1993, and fought a pitched battle against overwhelming odds to get universal health care for all the American people. You Might Be An Idiot! :-) If you think that Obama with n

Good article, Kelly. And Obama is right. McCain's and Clinton's stopgap b.s. propositions are far more hurtful to the overall economy and infrastructure of our country. They're a bandaid without glue on a gaping wound that needs major surgery. I wrote an article on the "gas tax holiday" of McCain before Hillary unveiled hers. They should both be ashamed at their incorrigible grab for votes, reaching for the feelgood reaction of promised relief without disclosing the greater damage that could be done. And here's the thing, Kelly. Sometimes I get the feeling that these politicians will say anything to get elected. The "it won't work but at least they're coming up with ideas" gambit. Or simply throwing it out there for the uninformed to catch hold of, certainly knowing that it would never get through Congress anyway. Now, that takes some brass ones.
