This is the Mother's Day sentiment I wrote for my grandmother in 2005. She passed away on April 2, 2008.

Grandma,

Your wisdom...

Has inspired me in so many ways
It has helped me make it through
Some of my roughest days
I appreciate all that you've done for me
You helped open my eyes and now I see

Grandma,
When I was blind with ignorance
You always gave me a second chance
To prove to you
That you had taught me well
To assure me
That if I kept on trying
I certainly would not fail

Grandma,
Your warm, gentle and sometimes harsh words
Touched my heart so many times
Your words of wisdom kept me on the right track
Even when I tried to walk a crooked line

Grandma,
When I needed a shoulder to cry on
Day or even night
You comforted my heart, my mind and my soul
With your strong will and might

Grandma,

You have always
Been there for me

And there for you
I will always be

Happy Mother's Day
