"Silk Soymilk" is a soy milk brand produced from non-genetically modified (non-GMO) soybeans, grown in both US farms and farms worldwide. More people are now buying "Silk Soymilk", but do we know how it compares with cow's milk? This article will try to compare the two products. The Silk Soymilk website, www.silksoymilk.com, will provide the information regarding the Silk Soymilk, and the Horizon Organic Dairy website, www.horizonorganic.com will provide the information about cow's milk. Both of these companies are also under the same parent company, Dean Foods. We will use this information to compare the nutritional facts of Plain Silk Soymilk to both fat free cow's milk and whole cow's milk.
Unfortunately, the cow's milk comparison on the Silk Soymilk website, does not include fat free cow's milk. Their omission is unfair because consumers cannot compare soy milk to fat free cow's milk, using their chart.
To see the nutritional facts for the plain Silk Soymilk, click on this link, and then, near the "Plain" variety, click on any link, except the "Single Serve", because its serving size is larger then 1 cup (240 ml). If the link does not work, I am giving you the comparison in this article.
To see the nutritional facts for the Horizon fat free and whole cow's milk, you can click here, then click on the "Fat Free Milk" or "Whole Milk" carton to view the fat free or whole milk nutritional facts.
