The Magellan Triton 2000 is the top of the new Triton line of handheld GPS units from a proven leader in GPS technology; with a 2 mega pixel camera, color touch screen and multimedia player capability you can't go wrong with this full featured GPS unit.

Ease of Use, Performance: 24/25, Look & Feel: 24/25,
Features 25/25, How much I enjoy 25/25
Total: 98/100

The Blue Ribbon for Excellence goes to the Magellan Triton 2000 for its complete set of features and user friendly interface along with the easy to use software program Vantage Point. The Magellan Triton 2000 is the leader of the pack in the new Triton line of handheld GPS units and performs very well in all the things I could throw at it.

Taking pictures, recording notes, making short videos and of course the regular GPS uses of finding geocaches and tracking where you have been are all in this handy sized unit. The GPS tracking and map use is simple with the enclosed Vantage Point software but of course you may want to purchase some better software to go along with the handheld GPS unit.

The Triton 2000 has about everything you could want in a handheld GPS unit including a 2 mega pixel camera, color touch screen, video recorder and voice recorder as well as the WAAS/EGNOS GPS receiver. The Triton 2000 has a regular very accurate GPS receiver that has position data in latitude and longitude as well as accurate elevation information, compass, speed and barometric pressure.

The Triton 2000 is the all in one multimedia and handheld GPS system that really does have a lot of features. I am currently listening to Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen on the Triton 2000 and it sounds great. The only problem I have with listening to songs on the unit is the volume control is a part of the menu and settings system so adjusting this may take a few pages of thumbing through the settings.
