In the City of Philadelphia
This tops the list of trivia.
People are so used to its existence,
That they can dodge it with excellence.
What is the worst thing on the sidewalk and road ?
You'll be glad if it's not the home of a toad !
Wherever I go I see a pothole,
In my life it has a big role.
When I am a casual walker,
It follows me like a stalker.
Frequently it catches my feet,
Its clones are also busy to greet,
Wherever I am on the road,
For me it is a true mental load.
Into it the cars' wheels crash,
And I am the one who gets the splash.
Again, when I sit as the driver,
I am still not a happy camper.
The pothole acts as a ditch,
For a trip that is a certain glitch.
My car makes a thump,
My head also gets a bump.
And I have not yet forgotten,
How my car got broken.
Now even in my dream,
I have started to scream :
"You naughty hole ! Even if you're on pot,
I do not find you hot."

Note :

I wrote this out of frustration. A few years ago, my Volkswagen's axle broke because of a pothole. We have too many potholes and driving a car is a serious task here. The city does not have adequate budget to fix all the roads................and yes, I write to vent............I know I have issues !

Hey! It is so hearetening to know that even in Philedelphia there are pot holes on the roads! In India (particularly at suburbans like my place Nanganallur in Chennai), having pot holes on the road is taken for granted. Even in the dream land, USA?!! Oh! I am so happy! CVR

Very cute! Recently one of the interviewers on tv (that I cannot remember his name right now) had an accident with a pothole, and his eye was all black and blue for a very long time! Guess he hit something besides just the hole. This was enjoyable!!!

Heard on the news today about the giant pothole in Texas. It keeps growing! Hmmm... Sci-fi story forming in my head.

Wow... I would be ticked too! I'm surprised I haven't broken an axle. We have some huge potholes. The roads in IN are terrible to say the least. When you see the "Welcome to Indiana" sign, get ready to hit the potholes! I bet the repair people love them!

LMAO! It's not just where you are at.. this past winter has caused some serious road issues here!

Great poem! I like how you were able to put it together and make sense. Not many people can do that. I think there are other cities that have potholes, I know NY has plenty maybe not as many but some nonetheless. Thanks!
