***This poem was written by my son when he was 19, he just turned 20. It is with his express permission that I am submitting it here on AC. He would love any feedback, as he has a compliation of poetry he would like to put into chapbook form. He writes in a kind of "Poe-esque" manner. Please share honestly.***

MAN OF NO MAN

Oh upon a gaze of stars
For man did not want to reach unto.
But one man claimed all
In his wicked grasp,
he attempted to catch them all.
He aged and died on a bed of greed,
As doth all that followed and did the same.

A Man of no Men touched them all
and spake unto them:
"For they have wasted their life to greed unto death.
But my love granted me the gift to touch all,
but never to claim as my own.

Is poetry having some fun with the soul, and then expanding on that, until it becomes an emotional image of heart? -DrD

I love Kahlil Gibran, and this reminds me of some of his writings. Have your son check him out. His (your son's) poem is very good, and full of spiritual meaning.

I agree with the other AC users. Your son is talented and should share his poems with the rest of the world. Well done.

I have to agree with one of the comments. He doesn't look like one who would write like that. It's wonderful - amazing. He has quite a talent. Congratulations - he should get read by many.
