Have Your Cake and Eat it Too!

Almost everyone has heard the phrase you cant have your cake and eat it too, but is this really true? are we destined to lives that are in some aspect unfulfilled and unsatisfying? Everywhere you look you can find unhappy and unsatisfied people, especially in today's society, but has life always been like this? or is this a new stage that we have reached? We have reached a point where everyone isn't just trying to keep up with the Jones', now even the Jones' are trying to keep up with the Hilton's, who are trying to keep up the Trump's, who are trying to keep up with the Gates', and this list goes on but you get the point. Everyone in our society is trying to get more, we strive for more money, better colleges, private schools, houses, land, we seek prestige, recognition, and more. We all want to be famous but in this race for fame and fortune what has happened to morals and honor?

Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to be a hypocrite, fame and fortune would be nice, actually just the money to pay all of my bills would be nice but that's another story. All I would like is for our society to reevaluate our lifestyles. It seems like our society has become split in half with two categories those who can and those who can't, those who know that no matter what somehow every situation will go their way and those of us who try as had as we can but usually fail no matter how hard we try. No matter what you want to call it there has to be some explanation. Are we all predestined to fall into these categories or is there some force that is driving us into them..

If it is a force that plays a role in everything that happens to us and the paths that we go down then I want to know why? Is this some sick joke played on us by some ultimate being? Is this being having a laugh at our expense? I believe that everything has to happen for a reason the trick is figuring out the reason. This group division is one thing that I'm not sure we will ever figure out. If someone is out there using us as puppets to satisfy itself then I ask what has mankind done to deserve this?
