Review: GE Energy Smart Outdoor Bug Light

I have many outdoor lights that I use often. The problem with this is that these lights need changing often, also. I recently spotted GE Energy Smart Outdoor Bug Light for sale at my local grocery store. This product caught my attention and I decided to purchase it and try it out. Here is what I discovered!

GE Energy Smart Outdoor Bug Light costs around six dollars, at my local grocery store. This product advertises many wonderful things on the package. The first thing that caught my immediate attention were the words " lasts for six years" boldly printed across the front of this bug light. Six years? You have got to be kidding me. That meant I could place this bug light outside and not have to change it for six years. I almost fainted. Steadying myself, I read further. This bug light will last for six years if I only use it for four hours a day. Oh. I use my outdoor lights about eight hours a night so, that cut the life of this six year bulb to around three years. Still, three years without having to change an outdoor light sounded pretty darn good to me. Did I mention I have to climb a ladder to change these lights? I hate using ladders. They scare me. Three year lights sound great to me! Now, the next captivating thing that I read on the package was that using this product would save electricity. With the rising cost of electricity, this fact thrilled me. I really liked that.
