Once your children become preschool age, their mind becomes a sponge that soaks up knowledge. The best way to teach preschoolers the basics is to make them as entertaining as possible. Your preschooler's room can be a huge tool that you can use to teach your child. Use these fun and creative ideas to entertain and teach your preschooler.

1. Alphabet Wall

Teaching your preschooler the difference between lower case and upper case can be a little difficult. You can go to a website that has prints of the upper and lower case letters of the alphabet. You can also write them out on sheets of paper if you prefer. Attach all of the upper or lower case letters to your preschooler's wall with small tape strips and then hold a letter up and ask your preschooler to find its lower or upper case partner. There is a variety of ways that you can do this and it can be used to teach things other than the alphabet.

2. The Writing on The Wall

At one point in time, most kids will write or color on the wall at least once. Give your preschooler a place to practice writing over and over again by purchasing a large dry erase board or creating a chalkboard wall. Chalkboard walls are easy to create with special spray paint and it can be used to teach your preschooler. You can do this directly on the wall or on a large piece of wood that you can hang on the wall. Have your preschooler practice their writing skills. Your preschooler will also love coloring and drawing on the board for fun.

3. Animal Sounds

Print or draw pictures of various animals that make sounds. Affix them to your preschooler's wall and have them choose an animal picture and remove it from the wall. As they are bringing you their selection, the must make the noise of the animal while they are coming to you.

4. Bins

Purchase some small bins and various small items of different colors while making sure you have enough bins for all the colors represented. Ask your preschooler to separate all of the different colors and group them together in the same bin. Afterwards, have your preschooler name the color that each bin contains.

Good article. Sorry I haven't been commenting on articles the last few days. I have been having a horrible time with my fibromyalgia. Hope to get in the swing of things again real soon.
