Are you looking for a fun pool toy for the entire family that actually does what it claims to? If so, then I have to recommend purchasing the Swimline RC Submarine by Swimline. When evaluating a remote control toy such as the Swimline RC Submarine by Swimline you need to look at two major components. These are how reliably the toy works, and the ease of use of the remote control device.

The Swimline RC Submarine by Swimline actually performs at an extremely high level. It does exactly what you'd expect from a remote control pool toy submarine. The Swimline RC Submarine by Swimline submerges reliably and doesn't have an issue with floating or only submerging partially as many other remote control pool submarines seem to do. Instead it goes reliably to a depth of three and a half feet before sometimes having communication issues with the remote control device. There are optional diving weights included with the Swimline RC Submarine by Swimline, I highly recommend throwing those weights away. The submarine doesn't need them to sink, and it can hinder the surfacing of the Swimline RC Submarine by Swimline. Overall during my use of the Swimline RC Submarine by Swimline without using the optional weights it surfaced 90% of the time. I have heard that the weights reduce that percentage for some to below 50 percent.

The remote control with the Swimline RC Submarine by Swimline. They are easy enough to understand that even younger children can have fun playing with the Swimline RC Submarine by Swimline. This is a welcome difference from many remote control toys today where the remote control is so touchy and complicated it takes a grown adult to control the toy. The only issue as mentioned above is once the Swimline RC Submarine by Swimline is three and a half feet or more under water it seemed to have occasional control issues with communicating with the remote control. When using the remote control keep in mind it must kept out of the water. If you submerge the remote control you will ruin it, it is not waterproof.

Takeaways
  • One of the few remote control submarines that dives reliably
  • Remember, don't install the optional diving weights.
  • One of the negatives is that the light on the submarine is relatively useless.
Did You Know?
Keep in mind this is not meant as a toy for use in the ocean or lakes as there is always a chance it will not surface and you will have to find it at the bottom
