A Decent Light Lunch, but Overpriced for What it Is

In addition to coffee and baked goods, Starbucks also offers a variety of cold beverages, sandwiches, and salads. I decided to try their Very Veggie Crunch Wrap. It provided a decent light lunch, but it was a bit overpriced, as are many Starbucks products.

Starbucks Very Veggie Crunch Wrap: Price

The Starbucks Very Veggie Crunch Wrap costs $5.25. While it won't break the bank, I thought it was overpriced for what it was. The wrap was relatively small, and it was all vegetarian. For that price, I would have liked to have some meat, or at least a dressing on the side.

Starbucks Very Veggie Crunch Wrap: Ingredients and Nutritional Information

The Starbucks Very Veggie Crunch Wrap contains crispy carrots, English cucumbers, bell pepper, edamame, arugula, and lettuce rolled up with sun-dried tomato cream cheese inside a spinach flour tortilla. There is also the regular assortment of twenty letter chemicals and preservatives, but that's to be expected in a packaged wrap.

This is a relatively nutritious meal. It contains only 310 calories (just enough to constitute a meal), 11 grams of fat (no trans fat), 15 mg of cholesterol, 360 mg of sodium, and 44 grams of carbohydrates. The wrap also contains 3 grams of fiber and 3 grams of sugar (probably from the cream cheese or flour), 70% of your daily required intake of Vitamin A, 45% of Vitamin C, 20% of Calcium, and 30% of Iron.

Starbucks Very Veggie Crunch Wrap: Quality and Taste

The Starbucks Very Veggie Crunch Wrap is a high quality meal. The vegetables were light, fresh, and crisp. The carrots were bright and fresh. The cucumbers, peppers, and lettuce were crisp, not soggy. The spinach flour tortilla was substantial and flavorful. I do wish they had been a little more generous with the cream cheese portions. Without a lot of cream cheese or vegetable dressing, the Starbucks Very Veggie Crunch Wrap was a little dry. I do wish Starbucks had offered a light vinegarette dressing with the wrap. Nevertheless, I was please with the overall taste of this meal. I also appreciated that there was a variety of vegetables to make the meal more nutritionally complete.

Nice article! I am not that big of a Starbucks fan, I am more into DD (Dunkin Donuts), because well... "America Runs on Dunkin." =) I like a few of the goodies that Starbucks sells though. Again great write-up!

Your sub-title says it all for me. Starbuck's prices are not nearly as appealing as their product! Good article.
