Living in New York City was one of the best periods of my life. Although I've recently relocated back to Orlando, Florida, I long to move back to, and I often visit New York City for many reasons, a big one being the restaurants in New York City. There are so many great places to eat. I enjoyed the wide variety of cuisines available. Particularly, I enjoyed the many Japanese restaurants Manhattan has to offer. From sushi to chicken katsu, I ate my way across New York City's best Japanese restaurants.

Here I list some of my favorites for you to try.

Sushi Samba Seven (1st Ave. at Christopher St.) - Sushi Samba Seven is Japanese restaurant that infuses South American influences into some of its dishes. While Sushi Samba Seven's sushi is top notch (and for the most part not South American influenced), it's the bento boxes that I really love. The salmon bento box, which is served with miso soup, rice, and a sushi roll is to die for. The salmon is fresh, and the light teriyaki glaze is just light enough not to overpower the flavor.

Sushi Samba Seven is located in the trendy West Village, with an equally trendy interior. This hotspot gets crowed on weekends, and during the Sunday Brunch. If you plan to visit on a weekend, reservations are recommended.

Inagiku (Park & Lexington Aves.) - For upscale Japanese, try this hidden gem in the Waldorf Astoria hotel. Inagiku blends traditional Japanese dishes with Japanese inspired dishes, playing on the ingredients to created new, Japanese fusion dishes. The food, service, and decor are all top-notch (this is the Waldorf Astoria, after all). And in line with that, the prices are as high as you'd expect, too.

Inagiku is located in the Waldorf Astoria hotel Inagiku is open for lunch and dinner. Reservations are recommenced, but not required.
