With the advancements in digital entertainment, it is far too easy to fill up your computers hard drive. When this happens, you may think that you have to purchase a new computer, or a hard-to-use external hard drive. While this may have been true in the past, there are many hard drives that will provide you with the storage capabilities you desire without complex set-up and installation. The Seagate FreeAgent 500GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive, Model: ST305004FDA1E1-RK is one of the most stable, and easy-to-use external hard drives available today. If you are searching for a great external hard drive that you can easily carry with you to any computer, then you will want to read this review. Main Product Features:
This external hard drive is one of my favorites because of its ability to seamlessly fit on your desk without taking up too much room. Actually, you will be able to place this on your desk, and it will only take up as much room as a standard stapler. Because of this, it makes a great companion for both home and work uses.
With a total storage capacity of 500GB, you are able to store all of your sensitive files, as well as your movie and music libraries. And since you can password-protect this hard drive, you will never have to worry about it falling into the wrong hands. This is a great feature for those who keep sensitive files on this hard drive.
If you need to archive your computer, this hard drive is much more secure than using simple DVDs and CDs, which are prone to scratching. This hard drive is large enough to hold your entire digital library, or other sensitive files, and yet it is small enough to easily travel with you wherever you go.
There is really only one draw back to this hard drive. In order to use it you have to connect it to an external power outlet, which is its only negative aspect. However, once you have done this the data transfer rate is quite fast. With a transfer rate of 480 Mbps, you will be able to transfer files to and from this hard drive extremely fast. And with 7200 RPMs you will be able to stream through this hard drive with superior performance.
