He Was There, But Vacant
A Dad, You Never Knew

A Man, Whose Breath Was Filled
With Smoke

Though ,Spoken Words
Were Few

The Pungent Smell Of Alcohol,
Reeked Right Through His Skin

He Caused Much Shame, Destroyed
His Surname

The Gutter Was Where He Did End

But, There Was The Little Boy
Trembling In His Shadow

With Lifeless Eyes, A Wounded Soul
How Did His Life End?

I believe that people get discouraged when they feel unloved or uncared for by a parent. Always remember that your children are always watching you, learning from you....following you....So, this Fathers Day, and everyday, give your children something to live by...you !

www.biblegateway.com Ephesians 6:4 (King James Version)
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up
in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Love, love, love the message in this one. So very important for parents to remember. The most important gift to ever give, is the gift of one's self.

This is inspiring. It reminds me of a friend who had an alcoholic father and he still struggles.

Wow, This was really powerful. This reminded me of a poem I wrote that I think you will like. See it here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/199164/suffer_not_the_little_children.html?cat=10

Excellent! I totally agree. I have a serious problem with parents who have the attitude "Do what I say, not what I do". Kids are sponges, and parents are naive if they believe kids don't know and see ALL! We must know that in this world we as parents are the only chance our kids have!!

The only life he perhaps ever knew? But the heart in you on your sleeve You wear as a tool of inspiration because so true people get discouraged when they feel unloved or uncared for by a parent. Always remember that your children are always watching you, learning from you....*************************************STARS!

as the daughter of an acoholic, this means alot to me. some fathers have no idea the impact of their words, or their silence.
