David Archuleta out-sings the other three final four contestants on American Idol Rock and Roll Hall of Fame night. While the other contestants seem to have lost their way, David Archuleta has paved his road to the final spot.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night

Last night the Final Four contestants on American Idol each sang two songs from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It should have been a solid night of performances. It was not. Only David Archuleta rose to the occasion for both of his sets.

David Archuleta "Stand by Me"

David Archuleta did not pick the most up-tempo songs of the night, but he did pick the songs that suit his voice and his style. David Archuleta's first songs was "Stand by Me."

It was a great singing of the song by Ben E. King. David Archuleta with a clear pleasant vocals.

David Archuleta "Love Me Tender"

Whenever a singer lets you know they are going to attempt and Elvis Presley song, it's hard not to stop, hold your breath, and cross your fingers. Elvis Presley songs cannot be sung by just anyone. Elvis songs also have a special place in people's hearts.

With David Archuleta, it's no surprise that he took this famous Elvis song, held it in his hands and sang it lovingly. As with all of his performances, David Archuleta raised the song up to another level, and the words seemed almost ethereal.

David Archuleta's Consistency

With both performances on the American Idol Final Four show, David Archuleta showed something in both of his performances that the other contestants where not able to: consistency.

David Archuleta has been consistently in the top two. He has consistently made excellent song choices, which shows that he is intimate with his voice, and know exactly how to showcase it.

David Archuleta Light Years Away

Compared to the other three American Idol Final Four contestants, David Archuleta was the only one who gave the audience and the fans a consistently good show. While the others seem to be floundering on one song or the other, David Archuleta was calm, and did what he does best: sing his heart out.

I hope you are wrong. I think the judges have given him too many breaks. What other contestant could get away with his generic ballad sound, week after week? But, hey, you do make a strong case.

David seemed in a new zone; resolute, determined. I love that he is getting comfortable just being 17. His two songs were amazing and delivered beautifully and professionally. He knows himself well and showed his talents. He is prepared to work hard to win. What I loved was when Simon made a negative comment about Jason's Bob Marley song, David said he "liked Jason's song."

You are so frickin wrong. David Archuleta will, in no way, outlast David Cook on the outside world. No. Way. He is so boring, he sings the same thing every single week. Like my mom says, he sings the same song with different lyrics. BORING. BORING. BORING. Cook is a true entertainer, a true musician, and a professional. He will shine brighter for longer and for better than David 'Snore' Archuleta.

I absolutely agree. That was pretty brave to pick 2 very famous, well-loved songs and making them his own. I ended up loving those songs even more.

I am a big David Archuleta fan, I think he was the best also, I hope that he is safe tonight. I pray that he is safe tonight. I have my fingers and toes crossed. If he is voted off, the show has to be rigged.

Simon nailed it... He Crushed the competition last night. Also Randy hit the nail on the head when he said David is the one that comes out to try to win the whole thing every night. Johnny_Canuck http://clubarchie.com

Pam, you took the words right off my keyboard! I cannot believe how Jason and David Cook kind of crashed last night. Sayesha did OK - but she didn't really do great on the Tina Turner classic rock song, Proud Mary. Jason will go for sure. If not - I am not watching anymore. LOL. I really think David Archuleta catapulted himself to the top title. Loved your take on it.
