Syesha Mercado and American Idol Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night
After last night's performances, Syesha Mercado proved that she deserves to be in the top three. After last night, I could even picture her in the finale with David Archuleta.
Syesha Mercado has progressed in the American Idol competition more than the other contestants. Some of the other contestants did not have as far to go, to evolve. But Syesha has tested her boundaries and pushed her limits and she has come out glowing.
Syesha Mercado Sings "Proud Mary"
Syesha Mercado's first song on American Idol was "Proud Mary" by Tina Turner. She brought energy and light to the stage. Unlike the other contestants, Syesha Mercado really throws herself her own party while she is on stage. She is full of glee and joy. She is the one remaining contestant on American Idol who does not hold anything back from the audience.
She gave a concert-quality performance last night, and I could imagine her being on stage for hours belting out songs and dancing and performing for sold out crowds.
Syesha Mercado "A Change is Gonna Come"
Syesha Mercado gave an emotional performance of Sam Cooke's "A Change is Gonna Come." She even cried when Paula Abdul gave her compliments. Although Syesha Mercado can sing, and has talented, I do find myself growing bored during her songs. For me personally, she is not that interesting to watch.
I always know that Syesha Mercado will be good, and she will deliver.
Even if Syesha Mercado is mistakenly voted out because of a pro-Jason Castro popularity vote, I will not feel bad for Syesha Mercado. She had the talent, the looks and the inner strength to bring her to the next level of her career, with or without the American Idol title.
Syesha Mercado What Will the Fans Do?
The question of Syesha Mercado after American Idol's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night will come down to one factor: the fans. Does Syesha Mercado have enough fans to keep her in the competition?
