Which Procedure is Right for You?

There are many options available to you when it comes to hair removal. As technology progresses they are coming up with new and less painful ways to get rid of unwanted hair. This is good news for those who need this
type of treatment, however, choosing which method to go with can be a important and difficult decision. There are many factors that go into deciding which method is best for you, including pain, cost, time involved, and expected outcome. In this article we will look at the two main types of hair removal, laser and electrolysis, to help you choose if either of these methods are right for you.

One of the most important aspects of laser hair removal is its lasting effects. As of today, electrolysis is the only proven method for permanent and effective hair removal. If your main goal is for complete and lasting hair removal then this is the method that you should most consider. As it stands, laser hair removal can not only allow hair to grow back but can also only reduce it instead of completely removing it.

Laser procedures are known to reduce dark hair, mostly from light skinned individuals. There have been recent advances in laser hair removal technology that may make it effective on light hair as well, however it is still not clear how well this most recent technology works. One the other hand, electrolysis is great for getting rid of unwanted hair of any color. If you have dark skin electrolysis may be the best option for you anyway since utilizing laser technology does run the risk of discoloring skin pigmentation.

Electrolysis has been used as an effective permanent hair removal solution for many years. It has been tried, tested, and proven to work. This means that once you pay the money and go through the procedure that you will never have to worry about spending more time or money on it again. Laser technology is relatively new compared to electrolysis, so there are no long-term results to base any assessment on. We do know that it can cause damage and is not necessarily permanent.

it's too bad that you didn't get electrolysis instead of shaving. Electrolysis is the only FDA approved method of permanent hair removal. However, like any other service, treatment is only as good as the practitioner - my mother was and I am an electrologist that has witnessed lasting results in all of our clients. It is important to select an electrologist that is credentialed, a member of the American Electrology Association (AEA), experienced, and uses the latest equipment for treatments that are much more comfortable than they were years ago and just as effective. If you contact your local dermatologists they should be able to refer you to a skilled electrologist (although if they do laser they may discourage electrolysis!). Electrolysis, rather than laser, is the recommended choice for facial hair removal, and eyebrow shaping. Clients also prefer electrolysis for hair removal from the breast and outer ear. Based on my experience, if you have a hormonal imbalance, an electrolog
my mother had electrolysis done when i was young and went back for several years, but she now has very few hairs that are noticeable, most are fine "normal" face hair, peach fuzz if you want call it. the ones that are noticeable are easy to pluck. I now have the same problem that she had, that she finally took care of with electrolysis, she noticed and took me to get laser hair removal because she heard it was less painful then electrolysis. Long story short, it DID NOT WORK AT ALL, and I have the skin type that is supposed to work the best with laser hair removal treatment (extremely fair skin and dark, almost black hair). Not to mention, it was crazy super expensive! At first it wasn't so bad, I thought it was working, until I went back after my third time and they didn't see any improvement and upped the voltage, it felt like a solar flare had personally sought my face out! I was surprised I didn't have third degree burns after the session. So now its back to shaving again. too bad
Lazer was a waist of time and monny,i had ten to fifteen sessions cost £1500,not made much difference, still shave every day
Following on from my previous email, i wanted to explain just how bad my face was before Electrolysis, my chin, underneath my chin jawline; neck, sides of my neck basically i had a beard like a man, i'd shave 2 times a day, i'd shave in the morning before school 8.00pm by home time 3.30pm i would feel stubble growing back, i hid this for a while until i became 15, i began to have treatment once a week, then i left home at 16 and i'd lost contact with the beautician, i shaved 3 times a day sometimes as by then i was involved with boys etc... by the time i was 22 i had resumed contact with Beautician and its the best thing i could have done, my face was a mess i was covered - i wish i has a picture to show you all. now after 4.5 years i hardly have any, mostly its fine hair that most people without hormonal problems have, i'd say a good 80% of my face has been because of Electrolysis. like i said if you need contact details email. Peace
I have known the beautician that does my Electrolysis for over 17 years as my mother used to have terrible hair growth along with black marks under the whole of her chin jaw line and neck, my mother was never under the illusion that it would happen overnight, the beautician also used to have hair on her face hence why she became interested in Electrolysis. i myself used to shave from the age of 13 every single day i began having Electrolysis once a week for 19.50 an hour i have been going for 5 years in november and my results have dramatically improved. there are patches where hair used to grow that dont grow anymore. its hard going in the begining but its all worth it. my mother has a hormonal problem and she no longer has hairs or marks, i think if you have a beautician that really cares for taking the hairs away and knows what they are doing Electrolysis is not as painful as some beauticians can make it. if you want more info email krazie_jacko@hotmail.com.
With laser the hair never fully goes away, just prolongs the growth time. Also, there is a point where the hair becomes a bit immune to the laser and they have to up the treatment. It is still painful, but all according to your pain tolerance. I felt very little pain but I've heard and have been told of people who scream and cry through the whole thing. If you go to a good place they only charge you once for a certain amount of time. Mine was two years but lasted a bit longer without them asking for any more money before I finally quite going.
