Barbara Walters: Admits to Getting Her Swirl On

Okay, so Barbara Walters aka "Baba Wawa" has come out of the proverbial closet and admitted to having an affair with African-American, then-married Senator Edward Brooke (first African-American Member of Senate) during the 1970s -

The question is why now, Barbara? We understand the need to sell your new book but....good lawd, Ms. Lady??!? Any who, I must say that Ms. Barbara has taste....she didn't settle for any okey-doke brotha...she headed straight to the TOP.

Now, looking at photos of Senator Brooke, it is not like Barbara went for a Wesley Snipes type of brotha and really got her Swirl on , but I guess that was close enough right? After all, the book is entitled "Audition" so we know that she needed to play that role to the "Hill" to get to the top job - aight!

Watching Barbara Walters admit to her interracial affair, is just a testament to the dichotomy of American racial relations. It is amazing how we want to keep this facade up and act as though things like this don't or should not exist, when we know full well that the history is deeply rooted in our fiber. Even to look at the photo of Senator Brooke himself, one can see that he might be of mixed lineage. So, once again people, GET OVER IT!
Let's get to REAL TALK and realize that this is a global village and people have and will continue to connect with people that they are attracted to or find common ground with-despite color or race.

Remember, a few years back when South Carolina US Senator Strum Thurmond (one of the biggest proponents of racially divisive politics) finally admitted that he had fathered a child, Essie Mae Washington-Williams with the family's African-American "help" and had been secretly supporting his daughter? Once again, the nation gasped in astonishment -well I must say that I had heard rumors for years but to finally hear it? Hey come to think of it, I might be related to Mr. Thurmond through Ms. Washington and by way of marriage. Not sure about that yet, but I'll update you if I can prove it like Senator Barack Obama can prove he is cousin to Vice President Dick Cheney.
