How Location Was Chosen

You might be curious as to why a small town in North Carolina would have such a huge Scottish museum. According to the Scottish Tartans organization, North Carolina was specifically chosen because it has such a high density of Scottish descendants in the area. In fact, according to the census reports and the governor's office, there are more North Carolinians with a Scottish descent than all the other states. Some might even go as far to say that North Carolina actually has more Scottish descendants than Scotland itself! Thus, it comes as no surprise that you will find the Scottish Tartans Museum located in Franklin, North Carolina.
