India is a country full of holy places of pilgrimage. Many of such places can take you to see the miracles with your own eyes. One such place of pilgrimage is Paxitirth, located near the city of Chennai in South India.
This is a very holy and important place for Hindu pilgrims as it presents the opportunity to see the Lord Shiva and Goddess Amba with their naked eyes everyday.

Paxitirth is located around 55 miles away from the city of Chennai in South of Chennai. One can visit Paxitirth by hired car or taxi from Chennai or any other major cities of South India. This holy place is situated on the top of the Mountain Vedagiri. The pilgrims need to climb this small Mountain on their feet that take around 20 minutes or so. This place Paxitirth is known as Trullu Kundaram in South India. This small Mountain is very beautiful with lust green forest all around it. There is a very large temple with a big Shikhar on top of this small Mountain. The Hindu legends state that Lord Shiva stays on this Mountain. The entrance way to this Lord Shiva temple here is very long, narrow, and may cause suffocation to some of the pilgrims as the air entry is quiet restricted on this walk way. Hence, please take care while walking through this dark walk way. The two large birds like eagles come here at this Lord Shiva temple everyday at the same time of 11.30 am for taking their lunch. This routine is going on continuously since last hundreds of years without interruption of a single day. Both these birds come from same direction exactly at 11.30 am, eat their lunch of rice put in an artistic Kumbha, offered by the temple priests, relax for few minutes and again fly back in the same direction. This routine can be seen on any day of the year. All the pilgrims gather here in the morning hours to see these birds eating Lord Shiva Mahaprasad. The solid stone seats are made for sitting of all the pilgrims to see the birds properly.

Sadly, I was only in Chennai/Madras to leave India, having wound up more than five months wandering there. I wish I had the extra time for something like this.
