Who Will Be Th Final Two on American Idol?

Millions of viewers watch American Idol every week. Loyal fans put up with the bad song choices, occasional karaoke-like performances, and the loopy antics of Paula Abdul. Things are starting to heat up now though. David Archuletta, David Cook, and Syesha Mercado are the final 3 contestants. Who will make the final two? Better yet, who will be the 2008's American Idol winner?

This threesome could not be more diverse. Archuletta is a small pop crooner with a big voice, Cook is a rocker, and Mercado is R&B singer with a theatrical flair. David Archuletta has been the frontrunner from the beginning! His big booming vocals made all the other contestants look even more amateur then they already were. His standout performances include his interpretation of John Lennon's Imagine, along with this week's performances of Stand by Me and Love Me Tender. Archuletta has had some difficulties though. Simon Cowell criticized him for some of his sappy song choices and e struggled during Beatles week.

David Cook also has a good shot at taking the crown. The rocker/ guitarist brought a fresh aspect to American Idol. Who would have thought that he would bring his "A" during Mariah Carey week? His amazing interpretations of songs like Always Be My Baby, and Hello really show his talent and versatility. This year was the first year where live instrumentation was used. This also set Cook apart. Cook has had difficulties. His interpretation of Hungry Like a Wolf was less than stellar.

Syesha is this year's long shot! This chick is in the bottom two every week! It's still a shock she made it to the top 3. This girl has really been stepping it up though. The past 3 weeks have been great for Mercado. She is really starting to show her personality. Her imitation of Tina Turner could have been better, but she has jumped leaps and bounds since the start of the season. She is like a diamond in the rough. She has the talent and the charisma; she just needs Clive Davis and a good glam squad to back her! She might make it to the top two if she keeps it up.
