Memorial Day Parades in and Around the Greater Fredericksburg Virginia Area

This Memorial Day I am sure there will be many parades taking place around our country. The Greater Fredericksburg, VA area is sure to be no exception as well. Being a Gulf War Veteran, Memorial Day holds a special place in my heart to remember and commemorate the sacrifices men and women have made throughout the year to protect our country and our way of life.

The greater Fredericksburg area consists of Fredericksburg, Stafford, Falmouth, King George, Spotsylvania and Bowling Green. I have also included information about parades taking place in Northern Virginia, Richmond Virginia and the Washington D.C. Metro area.

Town of Shenandoah

The Town of Shenandoah, while a little outside the greater Fredericksburg area, is hosting its Eleventh Annual Memorial Day Festival and Parade. Everyone is invited for the opportunity to honor the veterans and experience the festival in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Mountain area offers some amazing scenery and beautiful countryside for your pleasure as well. It is a picturesque area so I highly recommend that you bring a camera with you. There will be a number of different activities, to include:

Friday May 23, 2008 Events - Classic antique car show - live music and DJ on Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.

Saturday May 24, 2008 Events - *Memorial Service *Huge Car/truck/motorcycle/tractor and Dog Show *Carnival with rides, food, and games
*Parade with delicious homemade food throughout the town
