Forget Burma Before Chinese Are Invited in to Establish a Naval Base There

We will soon see Chinese warships and submarines blocking our Pacific Command ships from entering the Indian Ocean, unless our greedy oil mafia stop dreaming about stealing Burmese oil.

They always said such blunders are being committed for the sake of American people and their security. The only result of such misadventures in the past were handing over those countries free to opponents and making us poorer.

Burmese so far restrained themselves from depending too much on the Chinese. They developed a commercial relationship with Indians and kept it as a counterweight to the Chinese.

If they needed something but Chinese wanted a military presence in return, they got the same thing from Indians without strings attached and avoided the Chinese dependence on a case-by-case basis.

Trouble started when Burmese offered their natural gas to its two neighbors. Now enter USA, an uninvited guest from far away.

Burmese don't want us anywhere near them due to our abysmal record in neighboring Thailand and elsewhere.

What Thailand got in return for allowing us in is aid and AIDS. Aid went to rich people and AIDS caught the poor people.

No country in their right mind will sell their national conscience to establish sex tourism in their own land undermining their youths or subsidize somebody else's spending spree.

Wherever we were allowed a presence, we have destroyed the cultural fabric of that country.

Vietnamese and Filipinos kicked our naval bases out. Soon Japanese may follow if we don't stop mixing up defense with sex or oil. Not convinced? Ask the inhabitants of Okinawa Prefecture about it!

If our uneducated think tanks and the wily oil mafia do not stop this Burmese drama soon, Burma will invite the Chinese in, an incomparable menace than not allowing cyclone aid in.

Lack of knowledge about the area by Americans should not be taken as a cover to commit more blunders at the expense of the American taxpayers and making them poorer.

It is high time American oil mafia stopped misusing American armed forces for their private gains. That may enrich their children and grandchildren, not other Americans.
