An Anniversary Wish

I wrote this poem for my daughter's anniversary.

As you look back and recall the years
And the times you've shared together;
Remember your wedding day tears
As you pledged your love forever.

Do you recall when you said "I do!"
And tenderness so filled your heart?
With something old, new, borrowed, and blue
You began "till death do us part."

Do you recognize your bursting pride
When you saw the angel in white
You had chosen to be your bride
On that wonderful wedding night?

Close your eyes and think back once more
As your heart stopped beating a while
When you walked through the chapel door
And glimpsed your future husband's smile.

Both of you remember should now
The pure joy of your children's births;
The most precious gift God can endow
To His children here on the earth.

Take note of all these many things
As you hold to each other tight.
Remember the bliss marriage brings
On this anniversary night.
