Learning to Use the New Office Phone System
Your Office and the Latest Phone Technology
Embed:
The big day is coming. Your office is coming out of the Stone Age and getting a new phone system. No more record-breaking feats of answering and tracking numerous telephone lines. The system is finally installed and functional. At least that's what the phone company says.Often, with new phone systems, your customers either can't get in touch with you or get caught in an endless telephone loop. Frustrated, they doggedly try and try again. The worst scenario is that at least one of your customers may actually court the idea that you absconded with all their hard-earned money. Smile, laugh but don’t cry yet. You just joined the increasing ranks of businesses worldwide installing new phone systems to keep up with new technology. They each have their own stories to share - many of which are less than humorous. Never fear, the telecommunications company that installed your system will no doubt be the first to reassure you and remind you of the kinks that need to be worked out. Certainly no productive change ever emerged perfect on the first try.
The word functional in the context of a new phone system only means it’s ready for secondary programming by you. The system already has been programmed with certain basics programmed by the installation team or repair and service personnel. The secondary programming is done by your office staff and customized to your needs.
