The history of HIV/AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) in America will be depicted in "A Lullaby for Ryan" May 23 at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center in Fort Worth, Texas.The event features world famous performance artist Jade Estaban Estrada and a preshow reception is included. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m. with the show following at 8:00.

In unrelated health news, Dr. Herman Yaggi Carr, a pioneer in the early development of MRI body-scanning technology and longtime Rutgers University professor passed away recently at the age of 83. (Source: Associated Press). He died while working at home of heart disease, according to a funeral director. He started teaching at the school in 1952 and retired in 1987 although he remained active in MRI studies until his passing.
In other health news, Washington recently became the first state in the country to dedicate state funding for digital mammography for their breast and cervical screening program, thanks in part to the advocacy efforts of Washington's Komen Affiliates and the successful Seattle Komen Community Challenge held last November.
Asthma summer camp enrollment has begun in California. The American Lung Association of California is accepting applications for the camps and the deadline for Camp Arroyo in Livermore is May 23.

In unrelated Texas news, Mimi, a Golden Retriever mix who was in a house fire with her owner and his adult son Feb. 13, was recently adopted. Unfortunately, Mimi's owner, who was in critical condition, died from his injuries.
