Chicago Fire Pizza
614 Sutter Street
Folsom, California
(916) 353-0140
Chicago Fire in old Folsom produces a fine, thin crust, traditional American style pizza, which is among the very best of the type. In addition to that, they make a deep dish, which, after you have had it once, you will swear that you can never go back to "normal" pizza. And then, they offer the true monster of pizza offerings: the stuffed pizza. This is not to be confused with some producers' stuffed crust pizzas - there is no relationship here. This is a two crust pie, topped with more sauce and stringy-meltilicious cheese. It weighs a ton, and it is wonderful.
Pizzeria Roma III
25004 Blue Ravine Road #121
Folsom, California
(916) 985-7828
Located in a former grocery store complex, this one may take some finding if you are not familiar with Folsom. But, it is well worth the quest! This is the most recent expansion of a family run group of pizza restaurants, and it lives up to its predecessors' standards. The pizza is the traditional thin-crust variety, but, oh, what a crust! The dough is hand tossed, the sauce is house made, and the toppings will bring tears of joy to your eyes. Salads are iceberg lettuce, ice cold, with a variety of antipasto toppings. A medium pie will feed two pizza lovers to the point of gastric distention.
