I was watching a tv program the other night talking about the issues in the upcoming election. One of the issues that will get a great deal of play is the economy. It always comes down the "economy stupid". Is the economy in great shape? Listening to all the political pundits particularly on the democratic side absolutely not. They will tell you that we were in much better shape under the Clinton Administration. They will tell you we had a surplus of over $500 billion and now we have a deficit. Personally, I can't fathom how anyone in their right mind can believe that. Do they realize how much $500 billion is? Secondly, when President Clinton took office we had a deficit and in less than 8 years we had a $500 billion surplus. Amazing isn't it! In less than 2 years, President Bush had us again in a deficit. To me, that is absolutely incredible. How do reasonable thinking people believe this trash?

I did not vote for Mr. Clinton either time and stated 2 years ago I would not vote for Hillary if she was the only man running. I did vote for President Bush twice and feel he has been treated quite unfairly by the liberal media. I state this to be completely honest and forthright. I consider myself an independent and vote for whom I think is the best candidate. I voted for Senator Obama in the Oklahoma primary but have not decided as of yet whom I'll vote for in the general. People's viewpoints change with time and everyone thinks that we were so much better off when President Clinton was in office. Let me give you some facts that were stated on the program I was watching. The unemployment rate under President Clinton when we were doing so well was 5.5%. Under President Bush, who if you believe the pundits is doing such a terrible job is 5%. Imagine that!! These are both government statistics from the Department of Labor not from either party. That being said, are we in good shape? Absolutely not, but we aren't as bad off as the media and democratic pundits would lead you to believe.
