Some might say that I am a health-freak or something of that sort.  And in all actuality, they couldn’t be more wrong, however, I do care about what goes into my body and how it effects my everyday life.  And in turn, this passion for healthy eating has geared itself to my friends, family, or anyone who will listen to me!  I was reading around on Associated Content and found an article entitled, “Lean Protein Sources for a Healthy Diet.”  As I was reading it, the author had some really great points, however, I kept hoping that she would write about one source of quality lean protein, but she never did.  And that source is through Whey Protein Powder.

She did an amazing job outlining various foods to get lean protein from, however, I know a lot of people who are very picky about what they eat, and the foods that she mentioned were definitely NOT on their top list to eat.  So, what is consequence for people not eating foods with good protein?  They become fatigued, their muscles begin to shrink, and to top it off, individuals will begin to gain weight!  Having a quality source of Protein in your diet is so incredibly important!  Many people just gaze over protein, because they do not know the main benefits of why Protein is so important.  I’ve had so many conversations with my friends discussing protein, and they only thought that bodybuilders needed protein.  Oh, they couldn’t have been more wrong.  Even if you are not into physical training at all, having a good source of lean protein is just as important as if you were training for a body building competition.

Takeaways

  • Whey Protein isn't just for people who are wanting to gain muscle mass

You should also consider Soy protein. I just did a big research article for a client and the studies have shown that soy is just as effective if not more so then whey protien. Plus you have the added benefit of it not being an animal protien like whey is. And for those that are lactose intolerant consuming whey, which is derived from cow milk, can be a healthy alternative that won't do a number on their digestive system. :) Thought you might want to know about another great source of lean protein.
