10 Ways to Reuse Graduation Tassels

Graduation is finally over and you've walked across the stage and received your diploma. Now what? You're left with a diploma or a degree, a black mortarboard that is the latest school fashion, and a dangly tassel. Before you are tempted to hang the tassel from your rearview mirror like so many others have done for so many years, try thinking of some creative methods of reusing your tassel. Here are a few:

1. Can't reach the light fixture or overhead fan? Attach a dangling tassel to add a little pizzazz to the room and reduce the strain on your back.
2. Give that hula girl on your dashboard a new skirt! (Ok, this is probably just as bad if not worse than hanging it from your mirror.)
3. You've always wondered what should be used to clean your keyboard-now you have a free cleaning instrument to get in those cracks and crevices.
4. Speaking of cracks and crevices-you could use the soft tassel to comfortably clean those hard-to-reach spots between your toes.
5. Give Barbie a wig. You're niece or daughter will have fun styling the new hairdo.
6. Use it as a drawer pull or hand on a lamp. If attached to the right piece of furniture or fixture, this can actually look good!
7. Can't remember everything you need to get done in the day? Cut and tie one tassel around a finger each time you need to remember something.
8. Add a memorable Christmas decoration to your tree. It will probably be very pretty with the twinkling lights surrounding it.
9. Decorate a potted plant with it. Glue or tie it onto the outside of the pot to show crafty inspiration.
10. Use it as a paintbrush for you or a young child. Dip it into the paint and create unique, twirled designs on surfaces.
