Larry King Show Hero Mother Mary Tillman

Larry King has interviewed everyone from Presidents to Prostitutes, but never has he had a tougher guest than Mary Tillman. You may have never heard of Mary Tillman, most haven't. I would describe her not only as a great mother, but as an example of what makes America Great. She made the grandest sacrifice any mother can make. She gave her own son for her country. Her son would be killed leaving a widow, fellow brother Kevin who remained in the service, and, among others, one of the greatest mothers in the world Mary Tillman.

Larry King finally gave us a guest that we could look up to. I was amazed when I accidentally flipped the channel to the Larry King show and began watching this intelligent and well-spoken lady speak about her son's death. At first I did not know who she was, but as I watched I saw a woman with inner strength and courage that I had seen somewhere before. When I saw the heading under her picture I just had to sit down and watch the rest of the interview. I had previously been inspired by her sons.

Larry King should start a fund to build a statue to this woman and all the other mothers who have given their child's life for the cause of our country. Mary Tillman is the author of a new book that everyone should read entitled "Boots on the Ground by Dusk." It details the death of her son and how the military tried to hide the truth.

I didn't know much about Mary Tillman prior to this Larry King Show, but I have followed my fellow Arizonan, and NFL football player, Pat Tillman while he played at ASU and then for the Arizona Cardinals. Pat did not have a body that was quite large enough to be a pro football player and it was not expected he would reach that far. It turns out that his heart was more than ample enough, to overcome any physical limitation. He did become an NFL football player.

Like most people who heard the announcement after the 911 Terrorist Attacks, I was shocked when Pat Tillman gave up his NFL career, and what would turn out to be his life, to serve his country. Not only was this an incredible gesture of unselfishness for Pat Tillman as a man, but it was an even larger indication of the strength of the woman who raised him, Mary Tillman.
