The baby's shrill cries
Serves as an ice breaker
Brings joy to its maker.
The growing years is tough
With moments of crest and trough
Expectations rise , to conceal emotion
Yet tears roll in slow motion.
The world has prepared us
To be stoic and callous
Making the tear glands dry
For tears evaporate , without a cry.
Lo, life ceases on a fatal day
In silence , we pray
Eyes trying hard to roll down tears
Alas they have turned into frozen tears...
